Messy Church News – July 2023

We learnt about the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost at our June Messy Church as well as God equipping the Church.

We decorated our own swords and shields using paints, pens, tissue paper and sticky gems and cut out armour for our soldier figures.

We also made fire mobiles and head bands to represent the flames of the Holy Spirit. Revd Stephen used a jar of rice and a ping pong ball to explain how the Holy Spirit can help us if we put God first in our lives…

Dougie the Puppet sang us a song about putting on the Armour of God – the Sword the Spirit, Helmet of Salvation, Breastplate of Righteousness, Shield of Faith, Belt of Truth and the Shoes of the Gospel of Peace.

We hope to see you at our next event – Messy Church will be at the Grand Summer Fete at the Old Rectory, Corby Glen, on Saturday 29th July, 12 noon to 4pm where we will have free crafts for you to try as well as a puppet song and a competition with prizes. We hope to see you there!
